What do you mean by a “mockup” for first time applicants?
A mockup is simply a drawn image that gives us a general idea of what you intend your table to look like. This does not have to be polished or highly detailed, and we completely understand if changes are made after the mockup is sent.
For an example, please see this mockup that was made for the Chibi Chibi Con merch table:

As you can see, this is not a perfectly polished image. It simply shows a general idea of the layout. Elements that may be unclear from the image are labelled to give a clear understanding of what the planned layout is.
What are the table prices?
Table prices differ each year based on available tables.
The following prices are for the 2026 Chibi Chibi Con Artist Alley and Vendor’s hall.
Base prices for artist alley tables:
$50 for a 3ft table
$85 for a 6ft table
$160 for a 12ft table
Prices for artist alley tables for students of The Evergreen State College:
$30 for a 3ft table
$60 for a 6ft table
$120 for a 12ft table
Prices for non-artist vendors:
$100 for a 6x8ft booth
$180 for a 12x8ft booth
How do I pay online?
If you have been accepted, you will receive an email with a link to pay online. If you have any difficulties with paying through the online portal, please email us and we will help you resolve the issues.
When will you open AA applications?
Artist Alley applications for Chibi Chibi Con 2026 will be opening on November 14th 2025 and closing on December 20th 2025. The first round of acceptances will be sent out by January 17th 2026.
What’s the difference between an artist and a vendor?
We define “vendors” as merchants conducting mostly resale, in that they have personally made or designed 20% or less of their stock. Examples: local comic or anime stores tabling at CCC, artists’ guilds selling mostly the work of artists not present, or publishers. We define “artists” as merchants who have personally made or designed 80% or more of their stock. Please apply for the appropriate category according to these definitions–our review processes for artists and vendors are designed around these definitions, and if miscategorized you may receive poor panel review results.
How can people who’d like to share a table apply together?
Artists interested in tabling together will apply as a “studio,” and submit a portfolio, table layout, blurb, and category list that include work from all interested parties. These will be evaluated collectively by the same standards as a singular artist.
Will power be available?
We have limited spots with access to power. If you will be requiring power then you must indicate so upon your application. You must bring your own extension cords and tape to secure them, keep them safely out of throughways, and make sure no one will be tripped by them. If you’re worried about your phone having battery to process card transactions, we recommend purchasing a mobile rechargeable battery bank.
Are artists competing with vendors for tables?
Don’t worry, artists and vendors are going through separate application processes. A small number of spaces have been set aside for vendors according to the response we got on our survey. Artists will not be reviewed in comparison to vendors or vice versa.
There have been instances where bootlegs, tracers, art thieves, or generative AI have been at your AA.
Our AA/VH guidelines strictly disallows bootlegs, plagiarism, and content created by or with the assistance of generative AI. We do our best to prevent any of these kinds of works to appear in our alley. We are, however, a small team of volunteers and may miss things at times. If you see anything that you believe to be in violation of our rules, please report it immediately. Report AA/VH policy infringement here.
If a vendor or artist is found to be in violation of these rules, they will be expelled from the Artist Alley and blacklisted from future Chibi Chibi Con events.
Why wasn’t I accepted? I want to know how to improve for the future.
We do not publicly rank artists, as we consider that to be demeaning. We do not send a review out to every applicant because we receive about 300 applicants each year and our small team of volunteers is not able to write up a review for each one of those applicants.
If you would like to know the reasons for the results of your review you may request one by email after you have received the the results of your application. Please do be patient as we may not be able to get back to you immediately.
Please also do keep in mind that we have very limited space in our artist alley, if you were rejected or waitlisted it doesn’t mean that your portfolio was bad or that there was something you did wrong. There truly just isn’t space for everyone.
We try to prioritize having a wide variety of fandoms, styles, and types of merchandise. We also make a conscious effort to include new and emerging artists who may not have had a chance to table at conventions in the past. There are many artists that we simply have to reject or waitlist because we had a number of artists with similar offerings apply first, and in such cases we prioritize artists who applied earlier.
Last year the AA was too small / was sad / sucked/didn’t have what I wanted.
After the convention we put out a form asking for feedback from the community. If you were unhappy with the Artist Alley we ask that you fill out that form and specify what you didn’t like about it. We are unfortunately unable fulfill everyone’s wishes perfectly, but we do our best to listen to the feedback we receive and make changes where we can.
How much “portfolio” information will be required for the panel review?
Artists will be asked to submit:
- A link to an online portfolio, like a tumblr tag, imgur, or website (this should contain several examples of recent work that you’re proud of)
- A picture of a past con table setup if applicable (for first-timers, we ask for a mockup)
- A blurb about you and your art/wares
- A list of categories your wares belong to (prints, charms, plushies, jewelry, etc.)
More directional/wayfinding signage, please.
We are working on expanding our signage to better suit the needs of convention attendees and artists. We appreciate your patience as our team makes improvements in this area.
I saw an empty table at last year’s convention, why didn’t you accept more artists?
We have far greater demand for tables then we have space (in 2025 we had over 300 applicants and only about 120 tables available) so there are no vacancies, but sometimes artists don’t show up day-of. If that happens, we usually give their space to an artist already at the convention. We do not allow artists to move tables without approval.
In cases of cancellations we contact the next artist on the waitlist. We will reach out to artists all the way until the night before the con. Unfortunately we can not allow for same day replacements as this can cause significant logistical issues.
Do artists who previously tabled with Chibi Chibi Con get priority?
Sorry, but we will not be giving priority to returning artists this year. We would like to give space for new and emerging artists who may not have had the chance to table at an artist alley before.
